1. Reef Stash Sandals
No more hiding your valuables in the toes of your shoes. Step into this century wearing Reef Stash Sandals (or jandals, as they’re called Down Under). A Bond-like secret compartment in the sole hides your personal items and thwarts would-be crooks. Plus, they’re darn stylish and rather comfy.

Swiss Army Knife with USB2. Swiss Army Knife w/ USB
The ultimate multi-tool - the world-famous Swiss Army knife - is now also the ultimate geek multi-tool. With the addition of a USB, now you can trim that pesky hangnail, uncork a bottle of your favorite Pinot Grigio and save important documents. The clever Swiss have even added a ballpoint pen and an LED light. It’s all protected by the legendary construction and materials that made Swiss Army knives famous, which means no scratches or dings while it’s rolling around in your pocket – or while it’s stored in your luggage. The USB flash drive portion can easily be removed, so as far as airport security is concerned, it’s just a knife.

Kodak PlaySport Camera4. The Kodak PlaySport Video Camera
This sweet mini video camera has a special appetite for adventure and it’ll go practically anywhere you go (just one reason we chose it as the prize for our LocumLENS photo contest). It’s rugged, durable, and pocket sized. It’s also waterproof up to 10 feet and can be dropped up to 4 feet. Featuring a full 1080p HD video and 5 MP still capture, it also has autofocus, an electronic image stabilization, and built-in software with a USB. In fact, there is no downside to this camera unless you were hoping to get one in, say, puce. You can, however, can get one in black, red, blue, purple, white or aqua.

Travel without an international power incident5. 150-Country Power Adaptor
AC/DC, earthing pins, type “A” sockets, volts...who knew your hairdryer could cause an international incident? Well, no longer. Now you can use it in 150 countries without incident - and only ONE adaptor. This lightweight, palm-sized device automatically detects incoming voltage, converts it and adapts to over 150 international plugs. The built-in USB port means you can leave chargers for cell phones, digital cameras, iPods, and other devices at home. An integrated surge protector also keeps electronics safe from power spikes.

At home or abroad, a locum tenens should always be prepared. Pick up one or all of these gadgets for your next adventure and let us know how you liked them. In the meantime, we’ll continue to scout out other wares to make your travelers lighter, sweeter, smarter, lighter, faster and/or greener.
